The Tower is officially POLISHED!...
...as well as the Main Menu
We would never want a new player to feel lost, so besides the cute and hamstery aesthetic, we added some helpful notes to understand commands and mechanics.
Programming
UI - Player stacking
For this week we have also added players being stacked on top of each other at the finish of the level, according to the order players have finished! The winning player will now have a cosy spot on top of their defeated friends.
Added all remaining particles
Turret particles
For the turret we added particles for shooting the projectiles, colliding with the players & the projectiles exploding when their lifetime is up.
Death Halo
The players received a different particle for when they die by going out of the camera's view and then respawning.
Game Title & Levers Animations
We gave the 3D game title and the functional levers in the main menu a subtle animation.
Option to go to Main Menu when in Controller Menu
We realized that once you start the game, there was no way to return back to the main menu in case the controls were unclear for example. So we added a button in the controller menu which returns you to the main menu by pressing the south button on the dpad and then X on PS4 controller.
Subtle Camera Shake, Action Lines for collision between players & Rumble
To add more player feedback for players colliding with each other we added three extra effects:
- A subtle controller rumble;
- Action lines appearing around the outline of the window;
- A camera shake.
